Cutting copper, brass and stainless steel pipe accurately in confined workshop, plumbing and electrical installation environments demands a tool that combines precise wheel positioning with rapid setup. The KNIPEX TubiX® XL Pipe Cutter addresses this through its QuickLock locking mechanism, which provides independent holding and clamping on the tube, allowing exact positioning of the cutting wheel before the cut begins. High-quality needle bearings support both the cutting wheel and four guide rollers, enabling consistently smooth, low-effort cutting across the full diameter range. The cutter handles pipe diameters from ⌀ 6 mm to 76 mm (¼" to 3") and cuts pipes with a wall thickness of up to 2 mm. The cutting wheel itself is manufactured from high-grade ball-bearing steel. Replacing the cutting wheel requires no tools, and a spare cutting wheel is stored within the handle for immediate access on site. A removable, precision-ground deburring tool is also included, allowing cut ends to be dressed without reaching for a separate instrument. For plumbing, heating and air conditioning trades, the cutter is suited to gas and water pipes in copper, brass and stainless steel. For the electrical trade, it cuts rigid steel conduits and strips steel wire armoured cables, making it a genuinely cross-trade tool at 260 mm overall length.
