The SIP 01745 5L Water Soluble Cutting & Drilling Fluid is a general purpose metalworking fluid designed for applications including cutting, drilling, turning, milling, sawing and surface grinding in professional metalwork and fabrication environments.
Formulated with highly refined paraffinic mineral oils and performance additives, this fluid delivers a high oil content that supports improved lubrication and reduced friction and wear. When diluted with water, it forms a stable milky white emulsion suitable for use across a range of metalworking operations. The formulation is nitrite, phenol and chlorine-free, providing added operator safety and reduced environmental impact, whilst the refined mineral oil base contributes improved corrosion protection and bacterial resistance.
The fluid operates across a dilution range of 3% to 10% and is suitable for use with water hardness between 50 and 300 ppm CaCO3. It carries a refractometer conversion factor of 1.0, a specific gravity of 0.9 at 15°C, and a pH of 9.2 at 5% concentration. The IP 287 Breakpoint Corrosion threshold is 3% and the IP 125 Herbert Corrosion Test result is 2.5%. In concentrate form the fluid presents as dark brown; once diluted, the emulsion is milky white. The low odour characteristic makes it well suited to workshop environments where extended use is required. Applications include use with bandsaws, circular saws, grinders and linishers.
