Electrical faults and servicing tasks on hybrid and electric vehicles demand insulated tooling that eliminates the risk of accidental shock when working on live circuits. The Draper Expert XP1000® VDE Socket addresses this by combining robust construction with verified high-voltage insulation in a single 3/8" square drive, 8 mm socket. Forged from hardened chrome vanadium steel, the socket features a 6-point profile that maximises contact with fastener flats, reducing the risk of rounding under load. The VDE insulation has been tested to 10,000 V, making the socket suitable for safe working on live circuits rated up to 1,000 V AC and 1,500 V DC — the standard protection levels required when servicing modern hybrid and electric vehicle systems. The 3/8" square drive is a widely used workshop standard, compatible with a broad range of ratchets, extension bars, and torque wrenches of the corresponding drive size. At 8 mm, this socket is suited to a variety of fasteners commonly encountered during electric and hybrid vehicle maintenance. Built to Draper Expert XP1000® quality standards, this socket is a dependable addition to any professional workshop equipped for high-voltage vehicle work.
