Impact wrenches demand sockets built to withstand the repeated shock loads that standard chrome vanadium sockets cannot reliably endure. The Draper HI-TORQ® 6-point impact socket (SKU 5007) is forged from hardened chrome molybdenum steel, a material chosen specifically for its toughness and resistance to the torsional stresses generated by electric and pneumatic impact wrenches. The 6-point socket form distributes drive force evenly across the flat faces of the fastener rather than concentrating it at the corners, reducing the risk of rounding fastener heads under high-torque conditions. A black phosphate surface finish provides a layer of corrosion protection suited to workshop and industrial environments where tools are exposed to moisture and fluid contamination. Designed for use with a 3/4-inch square drive, this 26mm socket is supplied complete with ring and pin to secure it to the drive tool during operation. The 3/4-inch drive class is commonly selected for heavy-duty automotive, plant, and industrial fastening tasks where the torque output of larger impact wrenches is required. The HI-TORQ® designation identifies this socket as part of Draper's range engineered for impact tool compatibility.
