Compacted soil and poor drainage are common obstacles to a healthy lawn, leading to waterlogging and restricted root growth. The Draper 9973 4-Prong Lawn Aerator is designed to address this directly, using four prongs to penetrate the turf and remove impacted soil and grass while maintaining minimum soil adhesion for clean, efficient operation. The tool is constructed from high-quality tubular steel with a black powder-coated finish, providing corrosion protection against repeated outdoor use and exposure to soil moisture. The T-shaped handle is fitted with durable soft foam grips, offering comfort during extended use, while the shaft height of 990mm is designed to reduce the need for bending and ease back strain over the course of a session. A footplate measuring 265mm in width enables the operator to apply additional downward pressure with their foot where firmer ground requires it, making it effective across a variety of soil conditions. The prongs stand 145mm in height, ensuring meaningful penetration depth, and the handle spans 310mm to provide a balanced, two-handed working position. Supplied as a single unit, the Draper 9973 is a straightforward, purpose-built solution for routine lawn aeration without the need for powered equipment. Its robust steel construction and corrosion-resistant finish make it a practical long-term addition to any garden maintenance toolkit.
