A failing catalytic converter or silencer can cause poor engine performance, increased emissions, and failed MOTs but without the right diagnostic equipment, pinpointing the problem is guesswork. The Sealey VSE953 Catalytic Converter Back Pressure Test Kit allows you to establish the working condition of the catalytic converter and silencer by accurately measuring the relative back pressure of the exhaust system. Connection to the exhaust system is straightforward: simply fit one of the two oxygen sensor dummy adaptors supplied M12 x 1.25 or M18 x 1.5mm or use the small or large brass cone adaptors, the plastic double end cone, or the plastic T-piece for different connection points. The colour-coded gauge scale makes diagnosis quick and easy, reading both pressure (0-10psi) and vacuum (0-60cmHg). This dual-scale capability means the kit is not limited to exhaust back pressure testing it can also be used to test low-pressure fuel systems or engine vacuum, making it a versatile addition to any workshop diagnostic toolkit. A gauge hanging chain is supplied so you can work hands-free during testing.
