An illuminated engine warning light can bring a workshop or a driver to a standstill, but without the right diagnostic tool the cause can be time-consuming and expensive to identify. The Sealey VS8812 EOBD Code Reader gives fast, straightforward access to a vehicle's diagnostic system, covering all OBDII/EOBD-compliant petrol vehicles from 2000 onwards and diesel vehicles from 2003 onwards. It retrieves and displays generic fault codes (P0, P2, P3 and U10) covering engine emissions, as well as manufacturer-specific codes (P1, P3 and U1), and shows the full code definition on screen so you know exactly what you are dealing with. Once the fault is identified, the tool turns off the MIL warning light, clears the codes, and resets monitors. Beyond basic code reading, the VS8812 provides access to live data streams from the engine and transmission modules, stores freeze-frame data for later evaluation, and displays live O2 sensor data. The patented one-click I/M Readiness button with colour-coded LEDs eliminates drive-cycle guesswork for emissions testing, and the tool also tests vehicle charging and cranking systems. It supports the extended sensor list to SAE J1979 2007 and retrieves vehicle information including VIN, CID and CVN.
