The Draper 53491 is a portable 10A automatic smart charger designed to charge, maintain, and restore both 6V and 12V vehicle batteries through a precise 10-step process that activates, analyses, and reconditions the battery — making it particularly well suited to deep discharged batteries that a conventional charger would struggle to recover. The charger supports a wide range of battery chemistries including WET, MF, Ca/Ca, AGM, GEL, and LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate), covering cars, motorcycles, vans, and other 6V or 12V vehicles. Charges and maintains 6V and 12V Lead-Acid batteries and 12V Lithium batteries at 100% for a long duration, with no risk of overcharging during extended connection. EFB batteries are supported when operating in 12V STD mode. A 12V DC power supply function enables battery removal without losing vehicle settings. A dedicated winter charging mode extends usability into freezing conditions, with the charger operational in temperatures as low as -20°C. The 10-step smart charging programme analyses battery condition automatically, requiring minimal operator input and making the unit a practical, year-round workshop and fleet maintenance tool. The unit measures 165 x 75 x 48mm and weighs 0.93kg, making it compact and easy to position in confined engine bays or workshop environments. Note: 6V charging mode is compatible with standard WET and Lead-Acid battery types only.
