The Draper 78456 Wet and Dry Bench Grinder addresses this by combining a vertical whetstone honing wheel with a separate dry grinding wheel on a single 250W unit, allowing the operator to switch between precision honing and aggressive grinding without changing machines or setups. The vertical whetstone honing wheel measures 200mm in diameter with a 20mm bore and operates at 134r/min, a low speed that minimises heat build-up during the honing process and preserves the temper of fine-edged tools. The dry white stone grinding wheel measures 150mm in diameter with a 12.7mm bore and runs at 3000r/min, a speed specifically suited to grinding high speed steel tooling cleanly and efficiently.Safety and control are addressed through a comprehensive set of accessories supplied with the unit: an eye protection shield, spark deflectors, wheel guards on both wheels, and adjustable tool rests that allow the operator to set and maintain a consistent grinding or honing angle. The grinder arrives fitted with a cable and approved plug, ready for immediate connection to a workshop supply. The complete unit weighs 10kg and is supplied in a display carton.
