The SIP Industrial F40-IDA (SKU 01721) is a 2.2kW, 400V floor-standing pillar drill specifically designed for professional metalwork and fabrication workshops. Delivering a maximum drilling capacity of 40mm and a tapping capacity of 25mm, it is built to meet the demands of production and general engineering environments where precision and durability are essential.
At the heart of the F40-IDA is a variable frequency drive inverter transmission that delivers high torque output across a wide, consistent spindle speed range of 65rpm to 2000rpm. An infinitely variable control dial allows precise speed setting across two ranges — 65rpm to 540rpm (low) and 245rpm to 2000rpm (high) — giving operators full control over drilling conditions for both ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The drill is fitted with a heavy-duty chuck compatible with Morse Taper 4 (MT4) and incorporates an integrated auto-drilling function to increase efficiency during repetitive tasks. A recirculating coolant system maintains optimal drilling conditions throughout extended use, while enhanced safety features are engineered in to protect operators in demanding production settings.
The F40-IDA is well suited to a broad range of metalworking applications, including drilling holes in steel plates, box sections and metal beams, creating precise holes for bolts, pins and shafts, producing panels for machinery, motor mounts and bearing housings, and working on gates, railings and enclosures. It handles mild steel, aluminium, copper, brass, stainless steel, cast iron and wrought iron. The machine stands 2040mm tall with a 530mm swing, a 560mm x 475mm work table, 150mm spindle travel and a maximum spindle-to-base distance of 1150mm, providing substantial capacity for large workpieces.
