When standard pillar drills fall short limited reach, fixed-position tables, no capacity for off-table or angled work the Sealey GDM1630FR Radial Pillar Drill delivers the flexibility and power professional workshops demand. Standing 1620mm tall and driven by a 550W motor, this floor-standing radial drill combines heavy-duty construction with precision control across a full range of applications. The radial arm, controlled by a rack and pinion assembly, allows fine positioning of the drill bit and extends to a maximum throat depth of 420mm with 285mm of radial arm travel enabling off-table drilling and angle drilling that fixed-column machines simply cannot achieve. A 16mm (5/8") MT2 chuck handles a wide range of bit sizes, while five speeds spanning 500-2450rpm allow the correct cutting speed to be selected for different materials and drill sizes. Spindle travel is 80mm, maximum distance from spindle to base is 1280mm, and from spindle to table is 830mm. The 70mm diameter column provides a stable, rigid platform, and the base measures 420 x 250mm. Safety is built in: a no-volt release switch and a pulley cover cut-out microswitch are both fitted as standard. A mortise attachment is available separately (order model MA10), and an optional keyless chuck is available under GDMX/KC. Also available as a bench-mounting version see GDM790BR.
