It is built to IR/EF specification, replacing original-equipment units from Delco Remy, John Deere, Magneton, Pal Magnaton, and Universal. Fitted with a groove pulley and clockwise rotation, it is the direct OE-replacement choice for John Deere and Grimmer Schmidt machinery — covering John Deere 270 and 280 compact utility tractors as well as the Grimmer Schmidt 185DRE and 375DRA compressors, across a total of four confirmed applications.
The IR/EF (internal regulator, external fan) design keeps the voltage regulator self-contained within the unit, eliminating the need for a separate regulator and simplifying installation. Clockwise rotation and the groove pulley configuration match the drive-belt geometry of the original fitment, so the part bolts in without modification.
