A three-piece floor mat for the Citroen Relay II from 2006 onwards, cut to the footwell of a large panel van built across a long production run.
The mat is vulcanised rubber, which handles what a van footwell actually receives: grit off site boots, water through winter and repeated scuffing of feet against the pedal box. Carpet absorbs and holds all three; rubber sheds them.
It is waterproof and oil and mud resistant, so what comes in off a job stays on the surface rather than reaching the floor pan underneath, where corrosion begins — a particular concern on an older van, where it has had longer to take hold.
Seat adjustment stays available with the mat in place, so the driver's seat still slides through its full travel rather than catching on a mat that has crept back under the rails.
