The Laserliner CenterScanner Compact Drilling Guide Device addresses this by combining a transmitter and receiver unit to provide safe, accurate alignment of the drill channel before and during drilling through walls and ceilings up to a depth of 120 cm. The system detects metal and actively warns of 230 V AC wiring, with a detection range of 2 cm for AC circuits. Visual LED indicators and switchable acoustic signals communicate the location of any foreign objects clearly, while a visual and acoustic warning is triggered whenever such objects are detected. Both marking aids on the transmitter and receiver assist with precise centring over the intended drill point. An integral LCD display allows the required drilling depth to be determined up to 150 cm, with a wall thickness display and measuring depth display both included. Measurement accuracy is typically 3% of measured depth. Both the transmitter and receiver are ergonomically shaped for comfortable single-hand use. The transmitter operates on 3 x 1.5 V LR03 (AAA) batteries providing approximately 12 hours of operating time; the receiver likewise takes 3 x 1.5 V LR03 (AAA) batteries with approximately 20 hours of operating time. Combined weight including batteries is 507 g, and dimensions are 77 mm x 179 mm x 31 mm. Supplied complete with receiver unit, adhesive kit, four sliding pads, batteries, and a carrying case.
