Product Number: 61033009
The Highway Automotive 61033009 Fan Clutch (MEC252) is a direct-replacement viscous fan clutch designed for Mercedes Actros heavy commercial vehicles fitted with OM541 and OM542 engines. Sourced from the Highway Automotive range, it is engineered to restore correct cooling fan engagement and thermal management performance in demanding, high-cycle operating environments characteristic of heavy-duty truck applications. The MEC252 designation identifies this as a specific-application clutch unit built to replicate the thermal and mechanical behaviour of the original equipment component. As a viscous fan clutch, it regulates fan speed in response to coolant temperature, reducing parasitic power consumption when full cooling capacity is not required and engaging progressively as thermal load increases — a critical function for preserving fuel efficiency and engine longevity in long-haul or heavy-load duty cycles. This unit covers two defined Mercedes Actros applications, including the Actros MP2/MP3 series, both requiring OM541 or OM542 engine fitment. Buyers should verify the engine designation and variant before ordering. The packaged unit weighs 5.8 kg with a package size of 250 × 140 × 260 mm, confirming this is a substantial assembly suitable for direct installation.
