Product Number: MAF-121
The MAF-121 is a Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) designed as a direct replacement for Ford vehicles across 88 applications spanning model years 1996 to 2013. The sensor is suited to a broad range of Ford platforms, covering all 88 Ford fitments in the programme, making it a practical sourcing solution for workshops dealing with Ford fleet and retail work across that production window.
As a vehicle-side replacement component, the MAF-121 performs the critical engine management function of measuring the volume and density of air entering the intake, supplying this data to the engine control unit so that the correct fuelling and ignition parameters are maintained. Accurate air mass measurement is essential for efficient combustion, stable idle, and compliance with emissions thresholds - symptoms of a failing sensor commonly include poor fuel economy, rough running, hesitation under load, and fault codes referencing air flow or fuel trim faults.
The sensor carries 39 cross-referenced part numbers from a wide range of aftermarket and OE suppliers, including Ford OE references 1 051 277, 1 054 419, 1 054 420, 98AB-12B579-B1B, 98AB-12B579-B2B, and 98AB-12B579-B3B, alongside references from Hella, Hitachi, Lucas, Bosch-stocked brands, Fuel Parts, Metzger, Mobiletron, and others. This breadth of cross-referencing supports confident parts identification when sourcing from workshop management systems or OE catalogues.
Confirmed fitments include the Ford Cougar (EC) 2.0 16V variants EDBA, EDBB, EDBC, and EDBD (August 1998 to December 2001), and the Ford Focus (DAW, DBW) 1.8 16V EYDC (October 1998 to November 2004), among a total of 88 Ford applications. Full fitment data is available in the listing's vehicle compatibility table.
