Diagnosing a faulty lambda sensor or a misbehaving ECU response can be time-consuming without the right test equipment. The Draper 24708 12V Lambda Tester and Simulator is purpose-built to address this challenge, providing the means to test and simulate oxygen sensor behaviour directly from the vehicle's 12V battery supply. The unit is designed for testing both Zirconia and Titania type lambda and oxygen sensors, covering 1-wire to 4-wire configurations, whether heated or unheated. The device is compatible with both petrol and diesel applications. Simulation of rich and lean fuel mixtures enables the technician to monitor the ECU's response in controlled conditions, while an LED display provides clear visibility of the crossover signal from the sensor during live testing. Connecting to the vehicle is straightforward: the positive and negative leads each measure 2 metres in length, and the test probe lead extends to 450mm. A wire piercing clamp is supplied for the positive lead, allowing quick connection checks and wire identity confirmation without the need to cut or permanently modify the loom. Zirconia sensors operate at 1V; Titania sensors are supported at both 1V and 5V outputs. The tester measures 140 x 90 x 35mm and weighs 311g. It requires a 9V battery for operation, which is not supplied. Supplied as a single unit.
