Product Number: S12-230AGM
Variations
Deep cycle applications demand a battery capable of sustained discharge and reliable recovery across hundreds of cycles – a requirement that standard starter batteries cannot meet. The Rolls Battery Engineering S12-230AGM is a sealed, maintenance-free AGM deep cycle battery rated at 12V with a 230Ah capacity at the C100 rate and 210Ah at the C20 rate, designed for commercial and industrial duty where consistent power delivery is non-negotiable.
Manufactured by Rolls Battery Engineering under their Series 5 AGM product group (4604), the S12-230AGM employs Absorbed Glass Mat technology in which the electrolyte is immobilised within a fibreglass mat separator. This construction eliminates free acid, permits installation in orientations other than upright, and suppresses gassing under normal operating conditions. The sealed design requires no water addition and resists vibration-induced plate damage – characteristics that define the AGM-S and AGM-R lines across the Rolls range." The battery measures 530mm × 209mm – 218mm (L × W × H including terminal) and weighs 56kg. Terminal configuration and polarity should be confirmed against the product label prior to installation. Cross-reference part numbers R12-200AGM and BAT412123081 apply. The technology supports start-stop system compatibility; verify suitability against the product label. "The S12-230AGM is available in additional capacities within the same series: S12-160AGM, S12-170AGM, S12-180AGM, S12-240AGM, S12-290AGM, and S12-380AGM." This product is supplied with a 1-year manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. "Delivery: pallet shipment, typically 3–5 working days within UK mainland. A dual-purpose sealed maintenance free AGM battery. This range offers both outstanding value and performance. The AGM-S & AGM-R product lines offer all of the leading design features associated with Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) technology, offering the user both a lower self-discharge and an increased acceptance to charge current than conventional flooded wet batteries. These batteries offer the perfect solution when looking to replace wet batteries or upgrade existing sealed batteries. Fitted with high-grade brass and lead terminals and featuring convenient carry handles. They also make use of a thick plate design and micro porous glass mat separator to deliver a high deep cycle rate and longer life.
