Mismatched thread standards prevent airline fittings from seating correctly and can cause leaks or connection failures. The PCL HC9573 is an NPT converter with an R 1/4 male thread on one end and a 1/4 NPT female thread on the other, designed to allow PCL couplings and adaptors to be fitted to 1/4 NPT threads on equipment or installations. It is manufactured by PCL in Sheffield, part of HORNGROUP, with a manufacturing heritage dating to 1938.
The HC9573 bridges the gap between the BSP (R 1/4) thread form used on PCL airline fittings and the NPT (National Pipe Tapered) thread form common on North American-standard equipment and some imported compressed-air tools and fittings. With product dimensions of 20 mm × 20 mm × 30 mm and a shipping weight of 29 g, the converter is compact and suited to direct inline installation without adding bulk to the connection point.
