Worn or leaking tyre valve connectors cause air loss and slow down inflation work. The PCL CO7Q02 is a 12V1 large bore clip-on tyre valve connector with a closed end design and female thread Rc 1/4, also referred to in the trade as an EM connector — manufactured in Sheffield since 1938 as part of HORNGROUP.
The CO7Q02 is the closed end variant of PCL's large bore clip-on range. A closed end connector is used when air is supplied directly from a main air line, such as a compressor or air receiver. A non-return valve within the connector unseats on connection to the tyre valve, allowing air to flow into the tyre. This makes it suitable for direct inflation from a workshop air supply.
Large bore clip-on connectors are available in both closed and open end styles. The open end type is used with the MK3 Tyre Inflator, PCL wall gauges, and PCL portable gauges, and operates via a pin that unseats the tyre valve when in use. It is therefore important when selecting a connector to specify whether a closed or open end type is required for the intended application. PCL also describe the CO7Q02 as part of their TPMS-friendly FLEXI tyre valve range.
