Airline connections to twin tyres demand a secure, colour-coded hold-on connector that matches the air supply type in use. The PCL CO1B05 is a twin hold-on tyre valve connector with a female Rp 1/4 thread and closed end configuration, supplied skin packed and manufactured in Sheffield by PCL, part of HORNGROUP, since 1938.
Closed end connectors are intended for use when air is supplied directly from a main airline — a compressor or air receiver. On connection to the tyre valve, a non-return valve unseats to allow air to flow into the tyre. The handles on closed end connectors are red in colour, providing clear visual identification at the point of use. Open end connectors, by contrast, carry black handles and are designed for use with MK3 Tyre Inflators, PCL wall gauges, and PCL portable gauges; that type uses a pin to unseat the tyre valve. It is important when ordering to confirm whether a closed or open end type is required.
The CO1B05 is suited to inflation of twin tyres and is available with a choice of stem length.
