Chopping through tree roots and breaking up heavy, compacted soil demands a head that can withstand repeated impact without deforming. The Draper 27590 Mattock Head is forged from steel to deliver the strength and durability required for demanding ground-working tasks. The head features a 65mm chisel tip for penetrating hard soil and cutting roots, paired with a 90mm wide blade suited to broader digging and grubbing work. The eye measures 70 x 50mm and is designed to accept standard pick axe shafts, making it straightforward to fit to a compatible handle of your choice. Weighing 2.27kg, the head provides the mass needed for effective striking force. It is sold loose without a shaft, allowing the user to select a shaft of the appropriate length and material to suit the application. A practical replacement or upgrade option for groundwork, landscaping, and general site clearance tasks.
