Stripping a wide range of conductor cross-sections accurately and repeatedly is a common challenge in electrical and panel-wiring work. The KNIPEX PreciStrip16® Automatic Insulation Stripper addresses this by combining a parabolic stripping blade with an automatic depth-of-cut regulator in a single 190 mm tool, covering a capacity range from 0.08 to 16 mm² (AWG 28–6) with only one pair of pliers. Semi-circular grooved metal holding clamps secure the cable with a confident grip whilst the parabolic blade makes a precise, clean cut every time. The automatism that governs cutting depth can be adjusted in fine increments to suit special operating conditions such as differing insulation materials or temperature. An adjustable length stop ensures stripping lengths are reproduced accurately across repeated operations, and an inscription area allows tool customisation or labelling. A built-in cable cutter on the top jaw handles copper and aluminium conductors — flexible up to 10 mm² (AWG 8) and solid up to 6 mm² (AWG 10). The ergonomic dual-component handle promotes comfortable, sustained use. The blade cassette is easily replaceable in the field, and a tether attachment point makes the tool compatible with KNIPEX Tethered Tools accessories for working at height or in safety-critical environments. For very hard halogen-free cables from 4–16 mm², KNIPEX additionally offers the Blade Block (12 49 32), sold separately.
