The HGZ400BP is a Hi-Grip worm drive clip adjusting between 370-400mm. Its band edges are fully rounded to protect the hose, and the hex screw is cold-headed and work-hardened with rolled threads, so it resists slipping or rounding under the driver. Tighten incrementally to the recommended 6.0 Nm (54 lb-in); over-tightening is what damages hoses. The range is manufactured to exceed BS5315 and carries the BSI Kitemark and NATO approval.
This is trade depth in one box - 5 clips of one size, zinc plated and passivated over mild steel with the plating applied after cutting. Intended for non-corrosive domestic, automotive and industrial service; for wet or salty duty JCS points buyers to its stainless range. One Hi-Grip covers a wider span than a typical nut-and-bolt clamp, so fewer bins cover more hoses.
Also available - the 350-380mm size (HGZ380BP); the 390-420mm size (HGZ420BP).
Few clips at this level carry a Kitemark, NATO approval and 180-plus years of British manufacturing behind them.

A. This size spans 370-400mm of fitted hose outside diameter. Measure the hose over its fitting, not the bare bore - anywhere inside 370-400mm and the HGZ400BP is the right clip. One JCS size covers a span that would take two fixed nut-and-bolt clamps.
A. For this size band JCS publishes a recommended torque of 6.0 Nm (54 lb-in). Work up to it gradually with the clip seated centrally on the barb; going past it risks damaging the hose rather than improving the seal.
A. JCS electro zinc plates and passivates the mild steel band after it is cut to size, so even the cut edges carry coating - and the finish is tested to EN9227. That suits dry and general duty; once salt or standing moisture is involved, the stainless range is the correct specification.
