PDR tools work the panel from behind using hooks, levers, and tap-down hammers — the goal is to push and massage the dent out without disturbing the paint, so the panel doesn't need refinishing. Traditional panel-beating tools (dollies, hammers, pry bars) work on dents that will be filled, primed, and repainted — the metalwork is rougher but faster. Choose PDR for shallow dents in good paint; choose traditional for deeper dents, creased panels, or where the panel will be refinished.
Windscreen replacement uses cut-out tools (wire or cord cutters) to slice the existing urethane bead, screen-handling suction cups to lift the screen out and refit, and primer-and-urethane kits to bond the new screen. Chip repair uses a resin-injection bridge that vacuum-clears the chip, then injects a UV-cure resin to restore optical clarity and structural integrity. The two jobs use entirely different toolkits — the product pages list the specific application.
As a guide: primers and high-build fillers spray at 1.7-2.0mm nozzle and 2-3 bar pressure (HVLP guns lower); base coats and metallics spray at 1.3-1.4mm nozzle and 1.8-2.2 bar; clear coats spray at 1.3-1.4mm nozzle at 2.0-2.5 bar. Always check the paint manufacturer's data sheet — the recommended nozzle and pressure are specific to the paint chemistry. The spray-gun product page lists the supplied or compatible nozzle sizes.
