A table saw is fixed and mounted on a stand or workbench — the workpiece is fed through, ideal for long rip cuts and parallel cuts where the saw stays still. A mitre saw is also fixed but the blade swings down through a stationary workpiece — used for cross-cuts, mitre angles, and trim work. A circular saw is handheld — the saw is moved through the workpiece, used for site-work and rough cuts where portability matters. Most workshops use all three for different operations.

Match splitting force to the wood you're processing and the volume per session. For seasoned softwood and small-diameter hardwood (under 200mm), 4-6 tonne electric splitters handle most domestic and small-trade use. For green hardwood, larger logs (200-400mm), and higher volumes, 8-12 tonne splitters are standard. For commercial firewood production with logs up to 600mm and continuous-duty cycles, 15-tonne and above hydraulic splitters with engine drive are typical. Splitting force in tonnes and maximum log length are listed on product pages.

Yes. Replacement blades, sanding belts and discs, planer blades, and other wood-working consumables are available for the majority of Draper, SIP, and Sealey wood-working machines. Match the blade by diameter, arbor (centre hole), tooth count, and tooth profile (TCT for general work, alternate-bevel for fine cuts, ripping-tooth for fast cuts). The blade specs are listed on each blade product page.

Each Chicago Pneumatic woodworking tool has a rated air consumption listed on its product page (in CFM or L/min) and a working pressure (typically 6.2 bar / 90 PSI). Size your compressor to deliver at least 25% more than the tool's rated CFM at 90 PSI. For continuous-duty tools (sanders, large nailers), a 10+ CFM compressor is the practical minimum; for intermittent-use tools (small nailers, blow guns), smaller compressors suffice.

Wood Working

Wood Working covers the workshop power tools and machinery used for cutting, shaping, and processing wood — wood moulders, log splitters, wood-cutting bandsaws, table saws, mitre saws, belt sanders, and the consumables that go with them. Parts For Machines supplies wood-working power tools and machinery for trade, agricultural, and forestry use. Within Wood Working you will find Wood Moulder (rotary cutters used to shape and profile timber edges), Log Splitter (hydraulic and electric splitters for firewood and timber processing), Wood Cutting Bandsaw (vertical and horizontal bandsaws for resawing and curve-cutting), Belt Sander, Table Saw, Wood Circular saws, Wood Stand mounting accessories, and Wood Cutting Mitre Saw. The category covers both portable handheld tools and floor-standing workshop machines. Parts For Machines is an Authorised Distributor and Seller of Draper, SIP, and Sealey across wood-working power tools. For pneumatic-powered wood-working tools — pneumatic sanders, nailers, and drills used in joinery and assembly work — Parts For Machines offers Chicago Pneumatic, which has the deepest range of professional pneumatic woodworking tools in the line. Product pages list power source (mains voltage and wattage, or battery platform, or pneumatic working pressure and air consumption), motor power output, blade or wheel diameter, rip capacity (for table and circular saws), cut depth and angle range (for mitre saws), and weight. For log splitters, the rated splitting force in tonnes (typically 4-8 tonnes for domestic, 10+ tonnes for trade) and the maximum log diameter and length are listed. Replacement consumables — bandsaw blades, table saw blades, mitre saw blades, sanding belts, planer blades — are available for the majority of the wood-working machines we sell. Search by the model code on the machine for service parts and consumables. Trade pricing on multi-tool and workshop fit-out orders is available; contact the team via WhatsApp 07754288583.
