FAQs

PDR tools work the panel from behind using hooks, levers, and tap-down hammers — the goal is to push and massage the dent out without disturbing the paint, so the panel doesn't need refinishing. Traditional panel-beating tools (dollies, hammers, pry bars) work on dents that will be filled, primed, and repainted — the metalwork is rougher but faster. Choose PDR for shallow dents in good paint; choose traditional for deeper dents, creased panels, or where the panel will be refinished.

Windscreen replacement uses cut-out tools (wire or cord cutters) to slice the existing urethane bead, screen-handling suction cups to lift the screen out and refit, and primer-and-urethane kits to bond the new screen. Chip repair uses a resin-injection bridge that vacuum-clears the chip, then injects a UV-cure resin to restore optical clarity and structural integrity. The two jobs use entirely different toolkits — the product pages list the specific application.

As a guide: primers and high-build fillers spray at 1.7-2.0mm nozzle and 2-3 bar pressure (HVLP guns lower); base coats and metallics spray at 1.3-1.4mm nozzle and 1.8-2.2 bar; clear coats spray at 1.3-1.4mm nozzle at 2.0-2.5 bar. Always check the paint manufacturer's data sheet — the recommended nozzle and pressure are specific to the paint chemistry. The spray-gun product page lists the supplied or compatible nozzle sizes.

Yes. Masking film, masking tape, body filler, sandpaper rolls and discs, and panel-prep solvents are available alongside the tooling. For abrasive consumables, see also the Cutting, Grinding, Sanding & Polishing section, which carries the full sanding-and-finishing range. Trade case-pack pricing applies on bulk consumable orders.

Body Work Repairs

Body Work Repairs covers the workshop tools used in vehicle bodywork, panel repair, windscreen replacement, and the protective and interior products used during repair work — the dent-pulling kits, panel-beating tools, windscreen tools, spray-gun and paint equipment, and the protective covers and masking products that go with them. Parts For Machines supplies trade-grade bodywork tools and consumables for vehicle repair, fleet maintenance, and bodyshop applications. Within Body Work Repairs you will find Automotive Bodywork & Windscreen Tools (dent-pulling kits, panel beaters, windscreen-removal tools, spreader tools), Vehicle Bodywork (specific repair tools for particular bodywork operations), Protective Covers (seat protectors, wing covers, floor coverings used during repair), Vehicle Interior Equipment, and Windscreen tooling. Buyer queries reaching this section reflect the practical work being done: "panel beating", "panel locks", "spray guns", "stone chip paint", "panel" — buyers are servicing real bodywork jobs and sourcing the specific tool or consumable needed for the task at hand. Product pages list the bodywork operation the tool is intended for (dent removal, panel alignment, windscreen extraction), kit contents (for multi-piece sets), and where applicable the vehicle type or panel material the tool is rated for. For spray-gun and paint-application equipment, working pressure (in bar or PSI), nozzle size (in mm), and air-consumption rates (in CFM) are listed. Buyers in this section typically know the operation they're servicing and source the specific tool needed. For dent-pulling and panel-beating kits, choose between PDR (paintless dent repair) tools and traditional panel-beating sets depending on whether the panel will be repainted afterwards. For windscreen work, the tool kit depends on whether it's a screen replacement (wire/cord cut-out) or a chip repair (resin-injection kit). Trade pricing on multi-tool and bodyshop fit-out orders is available; contact the team via WhatsApp 07754288583.
