Three small families keep the arc honest: brushes that clean the joint, clamps that carry the current, and magnets that hold the work. Each picks on one simple point, and the whole shelf of 83 lines runs on those three choices.
Brushes pick by wire type against the metal. Carbon steel brushes serve mild steel, the stainless rows exist because stainless work must only ever meet a stainless brush, carbon wire embeds and rusts the joint, and brass is the soft, spark shy option. The scratch brush range runs 225 to 350mm in two, three and four row forms, most with scrapers on the back, the brass fill and 230mm three piece set among them, with 28mm crimped tube brushes for pipe bores, a file cleaning brush, and a twenty piece set covering the small shapes.
The current side picks by rating. Earth clamps and electrode holders are rated in amps, and the rating should meet or exceed what the machine puts out, a figure stated on each listing, because an under rated clamp runs hot and drops current mid weld. Self grip sheet metal clamps, the 240mm single and the three piece kit, hold panels aligned while hands hold the torch, doing the second person's job on bodywork.
Magnetic holders fix angles without a second pair of hands, holding square and mitre work while it is tacked, with the multi purpose holder covering the common cases and freeing both hands for torch and filler. The welders hammer for slag and the soft grip MIG helper pliers, the tip and spatter tool, round out the bench.
