Drive size and torque are read together and neither works alone. Drive fixes the sockets the wrench will take, running 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch here. Torque decides what it will move, and the range spans 80Nm on the smallest 12V bodies to 400Nm on the mid-torque 20V machines and 350Nm brushless.
Mid-torque is a class worth understanding rather than a marketing term. It sits between a light 3/8 inch tool and a full high-torque body, giving enough for wheel nuts and suspension work without the weight and bulk of the largest machines. The Draper Storm Force 20V mid-torque body at 400Nm is the example here. Sealey run brushless bodies to 350Nm and Chicago Pneumatic hold CP8849 and CP8854 at 18V in bare and kit form.
Platform voltage commits you to a battery family, so it is worth settling before the tool. The range covers Sealey SV10.8, SV12 and SV20, Draper DXPULSE 12V and D20 20V, Chicago Pneumatic 18V and Abracs RG. Bare bodies suit a workshop already on a platform; kits bring batteries and charger for a first purchase.
Cordless ratchet wrenches at 45Nm on 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch drive sit on the same leaf and do a different job, running a fastener down in a space where an impact body will not fit.
