Pool size is limited by the ground rather than the garden. The base has to be level and firm across the full footprint, and a 18ft pool on ground that slopes by a small amount holds water unevenly and stresses one side of the frame. Preparing the base properly takes longer than filling the pool and matters more.
Frame type decides how the pool stands and how long it lasts. A steel frame pool is supported by an external frame rather than by water pressure alone, and the deluxe frames at 13ft and 18ft carry more structure for the larger volumes they hold. Frame pools also come down at the end of a season rather than being a permanent installation.
What is supplied matters because a pool without them cannot be used. A filter pump comes with the frame pools, and rectangular pools are supplied with a step ladder, which is what allows the pool to be entered without climbing the wall. A pump also has to be run daily rather than only when the water looks cloudy.
Water treatment is continuous rather than a one-off. A chemical master kit and a floater keep the water usable rather than needing to be emptied and refilled, and that is what determines how long a pool stays in use over a summer.
