The file is manufactured from carbon chrome steel, hardened and tempered to maintain cutting performance under sustained use. A rust preventative finish is applied during manufacture, and the file is additionally dipped in rust preventative oil to protect against corrosion during storage and working life. One safe edge is incorporated into the design, allowing filing work to be carried out in corners and against shoulders without risk of damage to adjacent surfaces. Manufactured in accordance with BS498, the recognised British Standard for files, the Draper 60204 meets established benchmarks for geometry and cutting quality. It is supplied individually and is a practical addition to any professional hand tool inventory.
