The Draper 60227 Smooth Cut Half Round File addresses this by combining a dual-profile geometry with a high-quality carbon chrome steel construction, hardened and tempered to deliver consistent cutting performance across a range of metals and materials. The smooth cut tooth pattern is suited to finishing operations where a refined surface is required, allowing the user to remove material gradually and accurately without leaving deep scratches. The half round profile provides two working faces in a single tool: the flat face for flat and convex surfaces, and the curved face for concave profiles, internal radii, and apertures. At 150mm in length with a 12mm width, this file is sized for controlled, detail-oriented work. The carbon chrome steel body is finished with a rust preventative coating and dipped in rust preventative oil, protecting the cutting surfaces during storage and prolonging service life in demanding workshop environments. Manufacture is in accordance with BS498, the British Standard for files and rasps. Supplied as a single file. For applications requiring a finer finish or a coarser cut, Draper offers additional files across the range.
