The half round profile provides two distinct working faces — a flat face for general filing and a curved face for working on concave surfaces, channels, and radiused recesses — making it a versatile choice for the professional workshop. The second cut tooth pattern removes material at a moderate rate whilst leaving a reasonably smooth finish, suitable for intermediate shaping and finishing work.
