The Sealey SPBC40 solves this with a dual-function unit combining a fully automatic 7-stage battery charger and maintainer with a dedicated 13.5V DC battery support mode, supplying up to 40A to hold the vehicle's electrical system steady throughout prolonged diagnostic checks. Compatible with EFB and AGM stop/start, GEL, lead acid, and calcium batteries, the SPBC40 features auto chemistry selection and automatically identifies and charges 6V, 12V, or 24V batteries. Lithium battery charging is also available via a selection button. The charge output is 40A at 6/12V and 21A at 24V, covering a battery range of 80-400Ah. Zero-volt charging allows recovery of a completely discharged battery, and an old battery sulfation repair function helps restore neglected units. The intuitive LED screen displays charging voltage, current, battery capacity percentage, and illuminated charging stages, while built-in reverse polarity, short circuit, over-temperature, and overcharging protection keep both the unit and vehicle safe. A built-in cooling fan operates only when required. Compact at 202 x 76 x 282mm with mounting brackets for permanent workshop fitting, the SPBC40 runs from a 230V supply and is rated IP20 for workshop use across an operating temperature range of -15°C to 50°C.
