Oil FinderShell Rimula R4 X 15W-40 is a mineral heavy-duty diesel engine oil for on-highway heavy-duty trucks, agriculture, construction and mining equipment. It is suitable for most heavy-duty diesel engines for on and off highway applications, including modern low-emission engines meeting Euro 5, 4, 3, 2 and US 2002 emission requirements.
The oil is formulated with a mineral base stock and Shell's Triple Protection additive technology, which targets acid and corrosion control, reduced engine wear in the valve train, piston ring and cylinder liner areas, and low-deposit performance to keep pistons clean over extended drain intervals.
Approvals and performance levels include API CI-4, CH-4, SL; ACEA E7, E5, E3; Global DHD-1; Caterpillar ECF-2, ECF-1A; Cummins CES 20078, 20077, 20076, 20075, 20072, 20071; Deutz DQC III-18; Detroit Fluids Specification 93K215; Iveco T1 (meets); JASO DH-1; Mack EO-N, EO-M Plus, EO-M; MAN M 3275-1; MB-Approval 228.3; MTU Category 2; Renault Trucks RLD-2; Volvo VDS-3; and Case New Holland MAT 3520 (meets specification).
For workshop and fleet supply, Shell Rimula R4 X 15W-40 is also available in a 209-litre drum (PRD00004163). For latest low-emission engines fitted with diesel particulate filters (DPF), Shell recommends its low-emission products Rimula R4 L or Rimula R5 LE.
Shell Rimula R4 X is suitable for use with biodiesel at OEM-recommended oil drain intervals.
