Product Number: CSS-073
The CCL CSS-073 is a crankshaft position sensor designed to replace the original crankshaft positioning sensor (CSS) across a broad range of Citroen, Peugeot, Fiat, Lancia, and Renault vehicles built between 1986 and 2008. With 328 confirmed vehicle applications spanning five manufacturers, this sensor is an established choice for workshops carrying out engine management diagnosis and repair on French and Italian passenger cars from this era.
As a direct-fit replacement component, the CSS-073 is designed to restore accurate crankshaft position signalling to the engine management system, which is essential for correct ignition timing and fuel injection operation. The sensor is supplied under the CCL brand and is manufactured to meet the fitment and functional requirements of the original equipment it replaces.
The CSS-073 cross-references an extensive list of 65 OE and aftermarket part numbers, including references from Bosch, Delphi, Febi Bilstein, ERA, FAE, Facet, Fuel Parts, Bougicord, and original Citroen, Fiat, and Peugeot part numbers. Confirmed Citroen OE references include 1920.C3, 1920.W9, 5918.81, 5918.87, and 5918.90, among others, making cross-referencing against existing stock straightforward for parts professionals.
Fitment covers Citroen (171 applications), Peugeot (130 applications), Fiat (20 applications), Lancia (5 applications), and Renault (2 applications). Citroen AX variants fitted with TU3-family engines between 1987 and 1997 are among the confirmed applications, alongside a wide range of additional models across the full 1986-2008 span.
