Three matches: (1) tube length and diameter — T8 (26mm diameter) at 600mm, 1,200mm, 1,500mm is the widely-used standard; (2) drive type — direct-replacement (uses existing ballast/starter, simple swap) or through-driver (bypasses ballast, requires fitting modification); (3) connector pin pattern — G13 bi-pin for T8 standard, G5 bi-pin for T5. Direct-replacement tubes are simpler but require the existing ballast to be working; through-driver tubes give better efficiency but need the ballast bypassed.

Match or exceed the original fluorescent tube's lumen output for equivalent lighting levels. Typical fluorescent-to-LED equivalents: 18W T8 (1,500 lumens) → 9-12W LED at 1,500-1,800 lumens; 36W T8 (3,000 lumens) → 18-22W LED at 3,000-3,800 lumens; 58W T8 (4,500 lumens) → 24-30W LED at 4,500-5,000 lumens. The lumen output is listed on every LED tube product page; compare against the original tube's rated output.

Yes. Replacement LED drivers (where the LED tube uses a separate through-driver), replacement starters and capacitors (for traditional fluorescent fittings being kept in service), and replacement fluorescent tubes (T5, T8 standard sizes) are available alongside the LED replacement range. For most workshop fit-out work, LED replacement is now more economical than maintaining traditional fluorescent installations — but the older fittings remain serviceable.

Yes. Replacement mounting brackets (for surface-mount and suspended fluorescent and LED fittings), trunking-mount adapters (allowing fittings to mount to standard cable trunking), and suspension-cable kits (for ceiling-suspended bay-lighting installations) are available across the workshop lighting accessory range. Match by the existing fitting's mounting pattern; for retrofit installations replacing older fittings, the new fitting's bracket pattern may differ. Search by the fitting model code.
