Match output to the inspection task. For general engine-bay and underside inspection, 300-600 lumens with flood beam pattern. For close-up detail work (electrical wiring, small-component inspection), 200-400 lumens with focused-beam pattern is adequate and reduces glare. For broad-area inspection (chassis-rail, panel inspection), 800-1,500 lumens with flood pattern. Higher lumen output is not always better — too bright can wash out detail at close range. The lumen output is listed on every product page.

Rechargeable LED inspection lamps: independent of mains supply, suited to mobile inspection, vehicle-bay work, and field-service. Run-time typically 4-12 hours per charge, recharge typically via USB-C or proprietary charger. Mains-powered inspection lamps: continuous operation, no battery management, suited to bench-mount and fixed-bay use. For workshop use covering both bay and mobile inspection, a rechargeable inspection lamp is more flexible; for fixed-bay continuous use, mains-powered is more economical long-term.

Cool white (5,000-6,500K) gives the most accurate colour rendering for inspection work — important for matching paint, identifying wire colours, and spotting small defects. Warm white (2,700-3,500K) is preferred for living spaces but distorts colour perception for inspection use. Most workshop inspection lamps run at 5,000-6,500K. The colour temperature is listed on every product page.

Yes. Replacement magnetic mounts (for steel-surface attachment), pivoting hook clips, swivelling stand bases, replacement battery packs (for older rechargeable inspection lamps), and replacement charger cables are available for the majority of Sealey inspection lamp models. Most modern inspection lamps integrate the magnetic mount and hook into the body — these are not user-replaceable. Older models with separate accessory kits remain serviceable. Search by the lamp model code, or WhatsApp 07754288583.

Within Beacon, Lightbar & Workshop Lighting, Inspection Lamp covers the portable handheld and bench-mounted inspection lights used in workshop and field-service applications — covering rechargeable LED inspection lamps, mains-powered inspection lights, headlamps and head-torches for hands-free inspection, magnetic-mount and clip-on inspection lights, and the cordless task lights used in vehicle service, mechanical inspection, and confined-space work. Parts for Machines supplies inspection lamps across the trade and contractor ranges. Light technologies are now LED-dominated — high lumen output, low current draw, long operating life, and rugged impact resistance suited to workshop and field-service use. We are an authorised distributor and reseller of Sealey across the inspection lamp range, covering trade-grade rechargeable LED inspection lamps, plug-in mains LED inspection lights, magnetic-mount and clip-on task lights, and the headlamps used for hands-free workshop inspection. Specifications listed on every product page include the lamp type (handheld, magnetic-mount, headlamp, bench-mount), the operating type (rechargeable battery, mains 230V, 12V vehicle-supply), the light output (in lumens — typical 200-1,500 lumens for handheld inspection lamps; higher for floor-area task lights), the LED count and beam pattern (flood for general inspection; spot for focused beam; combination switchable), the colour temperature (typical 5,000-6,500K cool white for inspection — gives accurate colour rendering), the IP rating (IP54 minimum for general workshop; IP65+ for outdoor and harsh-environment), the run-time (for rechargeable units, typical 4-12 hours at full output), and the recharge time. For workshop inspection — engine bay work, vehicle underside, cabinet wiring, confined-space inspection — a rechargeable LED handheld inspection lamp with magnetic-mount or hook fixing is the workshop standard. Headlamps free both hands for working under vehicles or in tight access. Trade pricing on bulk and fleet orders is available; contact the team via WhatsApp 07754288583. Most inspection lamps ship next-day across UK mainland.
