Optima Batteries
PartsForMachines is an Authorised Distributor and Seller for Optima, whose spiral-cell AGM batteries come in three colour-topped lines chosen by use pattern: RedTop for pure engine-starting (trucks, SUVs, large V8 and diesel engines, hot rods), YellowTop for dual-purpose starting and deep-cycle where winches, off-road lights, inverters and audio draw on the battery, and BlueTop for inland and coastal marine, with a marine-start version and a dual-purpose version on dual-style terminals. Group 34 is the most common UK fitment, covering Land Rover Defender, Discovery and Range Rover and the Jeep Wrangler JK, with 6V units for vintage and specialist vehicles.Optima is sized by BCI group, so the figure to match is on the listing, the group size with capacity, CCA and terminal layout, checked against the battery being swapped. Similar products and the alternative variants line up for a side-by-side look, the on-site filters narrow the choice by application, and the Battery Finder identifies the fit for a given vehicle. The FAQ and the Ask Simon chat cover anything left.
Optima is the original spiral-cell AGM brand, now owned by Clarios; its construction gives around fifteen times the vibration resistance of a conventional battery and is sealed and mountable in almost any position. Because these are AGM batteries, they should be charged with an AGM-compatible charger rather than an older flooded charger running a high-voltage equalisation mode. PartsForMachines supplies the Optima range online for UK off-road, marine and performance use.
